Mr Eazi has been very busy lately! Having only just released his mixtape, Life Is Eazi Vol 2: Lagos to London, the Afropop star has travelled across Africa for the launch of emPawa – an initiative to give talented African artists the opportunity to make it BIG in music.
Starting in Kenya on the 14th November, Mr Eazi has since attended multiple press conferences to announce his search to discover Africa’s next BIG music star. Mr Eazi has spoken in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Ghana, finally finishing off in Nigeria on the 20th November.
Making vibrations across Africa
A week after the launch of emPawa, Mr Eazi saw more than 4,000 people upload their personal auditions to Instagram using #emPawa100 and tagging @empawaafrica. The emPawa momentum has continued to build, and there’s still over one week until the quest to find 100 undiscovered artists ends (15th December).
For those new to the project… what is emPawa?
Talented artists across Africa have been given the opportunity to make it BIG in the music game! All they need to do is audition with a 30-second video on Instagram using #emPawa100 and @empawaafrica. From these entries, 100 lucky artists will be chosen to get the chance to record their very own $3000 music video.
The emPawa process doesn’t end there, as from these 100, 10 will be flown to South Africa to gain exclusive access to modern recording studios and receive intimate tutorage from Mr Eazi and other star names, helping to shed light on the music industry and just what it takes to make it BIG… and stay on top! Eventually, of the 10, two final artists will be invited to perform with Mr Eazi and others at Ghana Party in the Park, London 2019.
